Free Floating Anxiety: Definition
Free Floating Anxiety is defined as when an individual is unable to identify specific triggers for anxiety. This typically involves unrealistic, exaggerated or excessive anxiety that appears to come out of nowhere. Free Floating Anxiety is associated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) which is a psychiatric disordered characterized by a constant sense of worry and fear that interferes with daily life.
Those with General Anxiety Disorder may constantly expect the worst and worry about things like work, money, their family and friends or their health even when there’s no realistic cause to be concerned.
