Definition: Mental Functional Freeze State

A mental functional freeze state prevents you from getting things done and promotes a slowed down pace and/or avoiding. Hypnosis can help. Meridian Peak Hypnosis works with clients worldwide both in-office and via online hypnosis sessions.
A mental functional freeze state is a temporary halt in cognitive and action processes while preserving essential functions. It’s similar to a mental pause button for regrouping, problem-solving, or trying to manage stress, anxiety or depression. This state slows the mind down looking for clarity and problems to be solved before moving on to something else.
Many times too much freezing causes breakdowns in relationships, reduced feelings of well-being, problems at work, a breakdown in things getting done and cleanliness at home and other concerns. The mind simply goes into a freeze too much to perform the basic functions enough to keep moving forward.
Functional Freeze State Signs and Symptoms
• You can get things done but it takes every ounce of your energy to do it
• Always feeling exhausted
• Feeling social at work, but avoiding everyone once you get home
• Sitting in your car for 10+ minutes after parking to recompose yourself
• Mindlessly scrolling on social media endlessly
• Avoiding important things
• Sitting on a towel on the bed and staring after showering, trying to regroup
• Feeling like your mind needs to escape from your feelings always
Hypnosis Can Help You Break Free of Functional Freezes
Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind which regulates automated behaviors, actions and reactions. This is the part of your mind that does, thinks, feels and responds without logically thinking first. Hypnosis gives what does not serve you a way out and then most importantly: replaces it with a new routine that works better.
