Pathologically Demand Avoidant (PDA) behavior is characterized by a distinct pattern of overwhelming aversion to everyday demands and expectations. Persistent avoidance tactics, often perceived as manipulative, when confronted with routine tasks or instructions is a common response. Avoidance stems from an underlying anxiety and fear of control, leading to difficulties in forming relationships and navigating social interactions.

Pathologically Demand Avoidant individuals may have unconventional problem-solving approaches and resist conventional learning methods. Their responses to demands or expectations can be intense, resulting in frequent emotional meltdowns or shutdowns when overwhelmed.

Hypnosis Helps People Change Pathologically Demand Avoidant Behavior and Emotions

Hypnosis works deep in the subconscious part of the mind where our emotional ‘database’ of experiences, actions and reactions resides. The hypnosis process goes far deeper into the mind than traditional talk therapy which usually runs into a barrier.

Meridian Peak Hypnosis has worked with many clients where traditional talk therapy/psychotherapy failed first, then hypnosis was able to help. Hypnosis gives a ‘way out’ for emotions that no longer serve and most importantly: replaces them with new emotions, actions, reactions and behaviors that can help.

Improving Pathologically Demand Avoidant behaviors can dramatically increase quality of life . It’s possible with the power of hypnosis.
