Diets become a short-term challenge in seeing how far you can push yourself, but they do not tend to promote permanent lifestyle changes that are required to lose weight and maintain your weight.
Eventually the romance with the challenge becomes old and you fall back in your old habits. The weight comes back, plus a few pounds more.
Your words and thoughts are the key to losing weight
Your words and thoughts have everything to do with your weight. We self-hypnotize by continually telling ourselves “I’ll never lose weight” or “I’ll always be fat.”
Have you ever met someone who is naturally thin and it seems like they can eat whatever they want? Ask yourself: what words do they use? Do they constantly put themselves down or do they talk about how they love themselves, love their body and in general choose to be happy.
Thin people don’t have more will power and are not ‘lucky’
Thin people think in a way that leads them to make good choices about food that naturally leads to eating the right foods and either losing or maintaining their weight. You’ll find that most people who are thin do not eat in an out of control manner 5-6 days a week nor are they are on a diet or diet fad or moving from diet to diet to weight loss program to diet, etc. They are on a constant/steady lifestyle of eating reasonably at all times, with an occasional “pig out” day. It just always seems like the time when you see them is on that occasional day. 🙂
