What is Fidgeting?

Fidgeting can be reduced and eliminated with hypnosis. Schedule your initial 90 minute visit with our online scheduling system today. We work with clients both in-office and from anywhere in the world via online hypnosis sessions.

Fidgeting is the act of making small, repetitive movements, often without conscious thought. Common examples include tapping fingers, bouncing legs, playing with objects, or shifting in your seat. While often viewed as a sign of nervousness or restlessness, fidgeting can actually help some people focus or manage stress. It’s a natural response that can occur when the brain is trying to find a way to feel safe or manage negative emotions or energy.

Fidgeting may happen for various reasons, including boredom, anxiety, ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) or as a coping mechanism during stressful situations. It’s also linked to how our brains regulate attention and movement. Some people fidget more than others, and it can be a way to release excess energy or stay mentally engaged.

Fidgeting Symptoms

• Tapping fingers or feet repeatedly
• Clicking pens or playing with small objects
• Constantly shifting positions or fidgeting in a chair
• Biting nails or chewing on items
• Difficulty staying still or focused for long periods

Hypnosis Can Change Fidgeting Habits

Feelings of boredom, anxiety, ADHD or stress reside in the subconscious mind. This is the part of the mind that hypnosis works directly with to create change. Meridian Peak Hypnosis practitioners give a ‘way out’ for emotions that create the need to fidget and most importantly: replace with new emotions, habits and routines that work much better. Our hypnosis method replaces the need to fidget with new underlying emotions that help the mind and body to feel safe and want to engage in other activities.

Hypnosis helps clients replace fidgeting with feeling calm, safe and ready to engage with the world.
