What is High Functioning Depression?

Hypnosis is a powerful modality that helps people break the cycle of depression. Meridian Peak Hypnosis works with clients both in-office and from anywhere on Earth via online Internet sessions. Use our online scheduler anytime 24×7 to schedule your initial visit today.

High functioning depression, often linked to Persistent Depressive Disorder (PDD) or dysthymia, is a form of depression where individuals maintain daily responsibilities while silently struggling with ongoing emotional pain. Unlike major depressive disorder, this type of depression may not be outwardly visible.

People with high-functioning depression often appear successful, social and productive, yet feel emotionally drained or disconnected inside. It can go undiagnosed for years, leading to chronic dissatisfaction and burnout without change. Understanding the mind’s role in creating symptoms is critical.

Common Signs and Symptoms of High-Functioning Depression:

• Persistent low mood lasting a year or more
• Difficulty experiencing joy or excitement
• Constant self-criticism or feelings of inadequacy
• Fatigue or low energy despite adequate rest
• Irritability or increased sensitivity to stress
• Trouble concentrating or making decisions

Hypnosis is a Tool to Improve High Functioning Depression

The underlying fuel for high functioning depression reside in the subconscious mind which regulates automated behaviors, actions, reactions and emotions. Imagine a “toxic program” running in the subconscious mind which causes dopamine levels to reduce as well as self esteem to lower. The subconscious mind is very powerful and has the ability to change with the guidance of our practitioners. Hypnosis gains direct access to the subconscious mind and creates a new pathway for it to follow. Meridian Peak Hypnosis practitioners help give a ‘way out’ for responses that do not serve and most importantly: replace with a new set of emotions and responses that help you make progress.

What Is Required For Hypnosis to Help?

Our hypnosis process is the most effective and clients achieve their goal in the lowest number of sessions by:

• Being willing to change
• Being willing to think and feel in new ways
• Being willing to follow our practitioner’s lead
• Being willing to complete the appointments in the recommended progression

Changing high functioning depression and improving your quality of life is all possible with the power of hypnosis.

Hypnosis is proven more effective than traditional counseling for emetophobia therapy

In a study in American Health Magazine, hypnosis and hypnotherapy have a 93% success rate compared with lower results from other methods of therapy which require far more sessions.  Click here to learn more about hypnosis and its high success rate.
